COMING TO FULL CIRCLE BY NURTURING THE SOUL ![]() I often forget that most people know me as someone who is an intense athlete, coach or instructor and rarely know that I entered this world of fitness through the mind-body side. I was a Reiki Master, practicing Shiatsu and teaching Japanese Yoga long before I ever walked into a cycling studio. I have always been one who is extremely sensitive to energy from the people around and the changes within me. But rarely do I find myself talking to other people about this now days unless they spark the conversation first, but I felt that after reconnecting to my wellness roots I would share how much shift has happened and can happen for you, but onlyif you are willing to let it. I have made the commitment to practicing self Reiki sessions on myself for the past few weeks. WOW...the changes that have come with it. I am not sure how it is for most practitioners, because everyone intuitively connects to energy differently, but for me...I see colors, I feel hot and cold, my hands pain, and if I practice regularly enough I am open enough to get other energies connect to me. Connecting to other people's energies be dead or alive can be good and bad. 1. People who don't believe will think your are crazy. 2. Once you let one in, others will follow. I have had many amazing experiences with friends and clients who I have worked with in the past and would be willing to share in further detail of these occurrences, but this is not what I am writing about. When I started my first couple days of self work, it was very easy to reconnect to the energy and feel where I was off balance, but wasn't seeing any color at all through any chakra. Instead, every place was filled with muddy grey and brown colors. My entire energy system was distorted. This being no surprise to me based on how I have felt and what I have been going through over the past six months of my life. ![]() Before I get into detail, so I don't bore those who what the short point: Mind-Body-Soul are all connected. All three of these elements need to be attended to for overall 'Total Fitness' (then encompass nutrition and you have 'Total Health') Mind - needs training, it takes repetitive actions over and over to train the mind and create new behavior patterns (habits). Body - when putting the body under stress, seeing progress with it takes time and doesn't happen overnight. Soul - you can actually feel and see immediate results. It can be the fuel which can ignite the cycle of a fitness routine if you feel stuck and don't know which direction to take to get started. Question: Is your routine fulfilling these three components or just one or two? The Soul can often be left unattended or disconnected from the Mind an Body. It is important to find ways to treat your Soul regardless of what you believe (if you connect this to religion). Our bodies are filled with energy that gets off balance, it needs to be nurtured. There are endless modalities you can look toward, just as there are endless forms of physical exercise you can do. Part of our responsibility to our body is to nurture our Soul. Even if you have to do some 'Soul Searching', it is worth the greater level of inner development you gain. The experience between a matter of two sessions this week. As I had said, I see colors, which have always been so vivid and bright. For the past couple weeks I had been feeling my energy; the lack of and excess of, knowing a shift was going to happen...but never seeing any color. It was all simply muddled and colorless - without vibrance. After about eight days the muddy grayish brown I kept seeing, slowly started to separate into greens and blues, magenta and oranges and dark purples and pale yellows. Then the colors started to shift through to the right places...all except two: Visuddah (Throat) and Anahata (Heart) Chakra.
